In NZ clubs had been formed in 1944 but it wasn’t until a meeting was held in Palmerston North in 1946 that NZPCA was formed.
A Committee of Management was formed at conference in 1947 and held their first meeting in 1948. As clubs grew they were divided into Areas and a delegate form each area was annually elected. |

Taranaki Areas first Area Delegates 1948-50 were Mr F B Blundell and Mr K McCartney.
Taranaki’s first club was North Taranaki (New Plymouth ) in 1946, followed by Carlyle and Stratford 1947, Inglewood 1948, Hawera 1949, Waitara 1950, Opunake and Okato 1957, Oakura 1984 |
